£50 Toilet Paper

In case you are not able to spend all of your money on regular London prices there is still a chance for you to get your regular groceries and shoppings while spending ALL of your (dad's) salary on it. It is one of London's biggest icons and definitely worth a visit: Harrods.

Harrods has been around for a while (it was founded in 1834, so we will get to witness the 200th anniversary soon) and while it is admittedly very pricy it is beautiful up to the tiniest detail. It is organised in sections and each room is decorated in a different theme, which makes it really interesting to walk around. This, for example is the fish section:

It is truly impressive. The workers, of course are dressed appropriately.

And look at all the sweets!
The motto of this place (Harrods that is, not the confectionery section) is "Omnia Omnibus Ubique"which means something along the lines of "All Things for All People, Everywhere". A motto that does indeed suit this place as is sells electronics, food, clothing and all kinds of wishes that an oil sheikh can have.

Beautiful ceilings and very impressive fruit section:

It was really amusing to see how they sold these spiky fruits (official name) for £35 a kilo while in Singapore I got two huge bags for about £0.5 (I agree that it must be a bit more expensive given that it is a tropical fruit, but this might be a bit too much).

Everything is so proper! At this point I want to refer you to the "Dress code" section of the Wikipedia article about Harrods (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Harrods). Apparently quite a number of people have been denied entry, because of their improper looks (mohawks, tracksuits, apparently even big people…).

I am sorry for the tilted picture, but it is the last shot I could get before the door closed. That right there are the elevators. Not bad, huh?

Of course the staircase is decorated in egyptian style.

It is overall really beautiful and really big. It is like a posh version of Singapore's Mustafa (the huge mall, fans will know).

This is the old Harrods building (the new is shown on the first picture).

These people must be tired of getting tourist all around the clock. To be honest most of the people there probably just go to see what it looks like (who can blame them, the place is quite stunning), but I guess that is good advertising, too. I'll make sure I get all my groceries from here once I marry into the royal family.
