A first impression

We were basically running all across town and back from day one so after a few hours I had already seen a good part of the city. Here are my first impressions:

The Ha'Penny Bridge is a remarkably beautiful pedestrian bridge that crosses the Liffey. Although officially called the Liffey Bridge the fact that you had to pay half a penny to cross it led to it's more famous (and funnier sounding) name.

The alleys are very narrow and cute as one would imagine them.

Of course, the pubs are one of Dublin's main traits. They do not only have beautiful facades but also lot's of decorating flowers (I was actually surprised by how many flower pots were hanging everywhere around the city!)

The most famous pub in Dublin is probably the Temple Bar located on the street with the same name. I thought it was just an overrated famous site but after we went there on the last day it is officially my favorite pub in the world (so far)! It is really incredible! From the outside it looks like a small room, but as you go in there are more and more rooms and patios and whatnot and it goes on forever. And in every corner you have people laughing under heavily decorated walls and ceilings.

Last but not least, O'Connell street with the statue of latter:

You are going to get a completely false impression, because during our whole stay the weather was incredible (ok, I am talking Irish/British standards, which means we had over 20 degrees and it was sunny most of the time... (yeah, go ahead and laugh, but everyone there was complaining about the incredible heat wave...)) but what to do...
