Let's go to the mall!

Since we don't have a regular grocery store around here all shopping is done in the incredibly new and big mall of Jurong East. Apparently it is the only one in this part of town so literally everybody goes there. Let's see what it has to offer.

This is the mall from the outside. You will not recognize anything because of the stunnung quality of the picture. In my defense I have to say, that there was an endless line of busses driving directly in front of me every 3 seconds and I had to hurry to take the picture. What is that? You say I am exaggerating the amount of busses?

Am I? AM I?!! So, anyways as you enter into the mall where you can find ALL kinds of stores (more occidental stores as well as oriental shops) you run straight into this:

An ice rink in the middle of the mall. And this, everyone, is the best proof I will probably find of the incredible abuse of air-conditioning in Singapore. On the streets it is really, really hot 24/7 so they came up with the idea of maintaining the negative value of the outside-temperature inside the buildings. I am freezing in the MRT or at work even wearing the pull-over I always carry around.

Of course, an ice rink and 200 stores and restaurants were not enough for one mall, so let's add a cinema!
Talking about the stores... how about a shop specialized in katanas and japanese weaponery?

Sure, why not? And another shop caught my attention.

Who, who, WHO on earth would open a store of winter clothing (which it was) in a country with an average temperature of 30ºC and where you start sweating when you only think about moving!! WHO?! (Seems to work out, though, otherwise it would no be there...)

A little guessing game, before this post ends. Who can tell what is inside those bags. No, it's not soil. It is not dog food either. It is abour 10 tonnes of rice in case you don't need your spine after carrying your groceries home...

And to end this, here is a picture of the beautiful mall at night:

Phew! Those were many pictures! Don't get used to it!
